For today's 1st Impression review, I will discuss the Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Liquid Foundation..........

I purchased this foundation online from Sephora after trying a sample from their store.  The reason that I wanted to try this foundation because it claims to be a full coverage foundation that last up to 24 hours.

From Kat Von D Beauty:

"Every work of art begins with a perfect canvas. Create yours with this full-coverage foundation in a range of super-pigmented shades for a flawless complexion. Optical diffusers visually minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Fully loaded with a combination of raw materials and the best high-performance ingredients, it provides 24-hour wear, and the transfer-resistant formula means it won’t rub off on you—or anyone else. Natural polymers absorb oil for a matte, soft finish and the added emollients make skin feel velvety-smooth and hydrated. For locked-in looks, Kat’s got you covered."

First, let me talk about the packaging.  It comes in a beautiful hard plastic bottle that is decorated with a pretty black roses design around the bottle.  The foundation is in a 1.0 fl oz pump bottle (a major plus for me) that reduces wasted product and messes.  The foundation does come with a small stopper for the pump so none of the product will come out if decide to travel with this foundation.

I'm in the shade Medium 64, which is a tad light for me but it does oxidizes a bit and I used it with a darker powder foundation/setting powder to balance my skin tone.  This is a thick foundation and a little goes a LONG way.  I only used about a pump and an half to use on my face and it covered everything.  It blended very well and my look came out looking natural (not cakey).  It has a Matte Finish and if you will be happy to know that this foundation is oil - free.....a big yay for a oily girl like me.

I used this foundation with the Too Faced Primed and Poreless Primer (I will review this primer later on my blog) and the finished with the Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation in Dark:

(I only have the Too Faced Primed and Poreless Primer on my face)
(I have the Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation and set my foundation with the Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation)
The only con about this product is the the colors are kind off with either it being too yellowish or too reddish.  I had to get Medium 64 because it was the closest to my shade but it was still kind of light for my skin tone.  When I sampled the Deep 66, it was too dark and the undertone was too red.

Overall, I do like this foundation and it is definitely a full coverage foundation.  It covered all of my acne scars and I didn't have to use concealer (to cover my scars) after I applied my foundation.  This is a heavy duty foundation, so for me, I would not use this as an everyday foundation but only for special occasions, pictures, night out, and etc.  This foundation did hold up for the whole day (even in this HOT TEXAS HEAT!!!!!.  I did have to blot throughout the day but it did control my oil pretty good and I wasn't a grease ball.  I got this foundation from Sephora.com for $35.00.  I would recommend this foundation to anymore that is looking for a full coverage foundation that will cover any scars or hyperpigmentation.
