Food Finds: Quest Cravings Peanut Butter Cups Review

While shopping at Academy Sports and Outdoors, I found this product in the supplements section of the store and I have to say that I was pretty excited when I saw this..........

The first thing that I thought was this maybe a healthier alternative for one of my favorite candy.....Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.  So, I quickly purchased this candy (the cost at this located was $2.49) and ate this as one of my snacks the next day.

Let me start off with the positive notes...........

I love that it provided 20 grams of protein which did satisfy my snack cravings and doesn't have a lot of sugar in this.  I do think that this would be a great pre or post workout snack and of course, it's healthier than a regular candy.  Also, the peanut butter cups are pretty large and Quest provides many recipes on their website using this product.

Now to the negatives..........

I have to say that I did have a difficult time getting these peanut butter cups out of the package (some of the chocolate from the bottom of the cup stuck to the package).

And sadly, I didn't enjoy the taste of these peanut butter cups.  They were not creamy at all (kind of dry and crumbly - chalky) and it had a strong bitter taste to them.  These are NOTHING like Reese's so if you are buying these expecting it to be like those, DO NOT BUY THEM.  Overall, I did not like the flavor of these cups and I will not purchase this in the future.

My personal opinion, I would stick to the yummy protein bars over this protein candy.

And before I end this post, I want to acknowledge that today is the first day of February and also the first day of Black History Month.  So for all my post for this month, I want to end it with a Black History Fact about an important person in our history.

Today, I start with Dorothy Dandridge:
