A few days ago, I decided to style my daughter's hair in a protective style by doing two strand twist.  I decided to use the Shea Moisture Sacha Inchi Oil Omega 3, 6, 9 Rescue + Repair Twist & Lock Gel  (with Quinoa and Rose of Jericho Extracts) to test it out to see how it would hold up on her twist:

(For my recent Shea Moisture Haul post on this product, please click HERE)
I started on freshly washed and conditioned hair and I sectioned her hair into 4 parts.  When I started in a section, I first applied Just for Me Hair Milk as a leave-in conditioner and detangled her hair with a wide tooth comb.  After I detangled her hair, I would part a small part of her hair and began twisting her hair.  I would apply the Shea Moisture gel first (from root to end) and smooth the gel throughout the section I was twisting.  When I was done, I let her hair air dry:

At night, I would wrap up her hair in a silk bonnet to keep her twist from getting fizzy and each day I would spray her hair with the Shea Moisture Peace Rose Oil Hold Mist to keep her hair fresh and shiny:

I really like this product for her hair.  It didn't leave her hair crunchy but it did have an amazing hold.  The gel also left her hair very shiny and it didn't leave any white residue or flakes.  I also didn't have any problems applying this product to her hair and it did apply very smoothly.  My daughter has curly hair (if I'm guessing, maybe 3B or 3C hair) and it worked great for her hair type.

I purchased the Shea Moisture Sacha Inchi Oil Twist & Loc Gel from Ulta for $7.99 (I'm not for sure if this line is sold in any other stores as of yet......I have only seen this line at Ulta).
