ISSA Ulta Haul (A Lot of Goodies)

3/31/2017

Okay so it's been awhile since I did a haul....it's actually been awhile since I bought some makeup period.  So, I decided to treat myself with a little gift and pick up a few items that I wanted from Ulta.........

Let's talk about primers first..........

I picked up two mattifying primers that I have never tried before and since my holy grail primer (Becca Poreless Priming Perfector) was running low, I decided that this would be a good time to try out some new ones.  The first is the Tarte Poreless Mattifying Primer (Price: $31.00):

According to Tarte:

"Your skin's answer to makeup meltdown, this waterproof mattifying & retexturizing face primer features an optical matte-blur technology to filter out imperfections & create a shine-free matte canvas for your foundation to last 12 hours. The silky, invisible gel is ideal for oily or combination skin & helps to erase pores & resurface uneven skin texture from fine lines, dry patches or acne scars. The nutrient-rich formula infuses antioxidant botanical extracts into skin that help neutralize free radicals so you see an immediate skin-boost, even before makeup.

Skinvigorating ingredients:
Avocado: Natural oil rich in vitamins A, B1, B2, D, E & known for its skin-soothing properties
T5 super fruit complex: Proprietary blend of the five most active antioxidant-rich superfruits (maracuja, goji, açaí, acerola & pomegranate) to deliver nourishing & replenishing benefits to skin
Echinacea root, hibiscus flower & rosemary leaf extracts: Rich in antioxidants to help neutralize free radicals & improve skin tone & elasticity, while diffusing imperfections
Safflower seed: Emollient with beneficial fatty acids to help hydrate dry skin
Vegan. Waterproof. Tarte 12-hour power. Dermatologist tested."

I'm pretty excited to try this primer since it has great ingredients and to see if it keeps oil in check throughout the day.

The second primer I picked up is the Shea Moisture Mattifying Primer ($15.99):

According to Shea Moisture:

"SheaMoisture Mattifying Primer is an ultra-lightweight formula that helps hide pores and blur imperfections for visibly smoother skin and long-lasting makeup application. Formulated with fair trade and organic shea butter, tea tree oil, kaolin clay and a blend of vitamins and antioxidants to hydrate and balance skin. Helps absorb excess oil and control shine for a soft, matte finish. Looks invisible on the skin. Can be worn alone or under foundation. Recommended for oily, acne-prone or sensitive skin.

Benefits:
Key ingredients: fair trade and organic shea butter, tea tree oil, antioxidant-rich Vitamin E
Free of toxins, parabens, synthetic fragrance, talc, mineral oil, pesticides
Never tested on animals
Hypoallergenic, noncomedogenic, dermatologist tested"

Again, I'm excited about the ingredients (especially the Tea Tree Oil for my acne prone skin) and the Kaolin clay for my oily skin.

Next, I got two foundations.....Too Faced "Born This Way" Foundation (Price: $39.00) and the Urban Decay "Naked Skin One & Done" Hybrid Complexion Perfector (Price: $34.00):

This foundation has been out for awhile but this is my first time trying this foundation.  I picked up the shade "Chestnut" and it comes in a 1.0 Fl Oz (30mL) pump bottle.  This foundation is infused with coconut water, alpine rose, and hyaluronic acid.  Per Too Faced:

"This oil-free foundation masterfully diffuses the line between makeup and skin.  Coverage so undetectable and skin so naturally radiant, they'll think you were 'BORN THIS WAY'."

I picked this up only for the summertime because usually, I wear light foundations, tinted moisturizers, or BB creams during this time.

This foundation is supposed to be very lightweight and I'm happy that is has sunscreen in it.  I picked up the shade "Dark" (for 8.0 - 9.0 regular UD shades) and it comes in a 1.3 Fl. Oz (40mL) pump tube.  Here is some info from Urban Decay:

"The Best of both worlds, this hybrid complexion cream combines the benefits of a sheer foundation with the coverage of a tinted moisturizer - and our high-tech, weightless formula feels amazing on our skin.  One & Done provides all day wear and covers a wide range of skin tones. But the best part is how it transforms the look of your skin. Light-diffusing spheres immediately help make flaws seem to disappear.  Over time, pores appear smaller and skin appears noticeably firmer and more radiant."

I also picked up another Too Faced product but this is for the brows.....The "Chocolate Brownie" 12 Hour Wear Cocoa Powder Brow Pencil (Price: $23.00):

This is a part of their chocolate line and is infused with real cocoa powder.  Like their other chocolate products, this has a strong chocolate smell (which I love) and it's waterproof.  I picked up the shade "Deep Brown" and the pencil is retractable with an angled tip.  From Too Faced:

"Take our brow game to the next level with our waterproof, cocoa powder infused formula that conditions brow hair while offering perfectly defined and groomed brows that last for 12 hours - all with a subtle chocolate scent."

Lastly, I picked up two lip products....The Too Faced (I picked up a lot of Too Faced products, LOL) Lip Injection Ultimate Lip Plumper (Price: $22.00) and the Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Shea Butter Lip Balm (Price: $3.99).

I love lip gloss so I wanted to try the Lip Injection for awhile.  I will say that I already have full lips so I really didn't need my lips to be "Plump" but I like the moisturizing effects of it.  More info from Too Faced:

"Lip Injection's innovated-yet gentle formula utilizes advanced volumizing technology to plump lips. Our exclusive combination of lip-enhancing ingredients gives you an instantly plumped, glossy pout, while vitamin E and avocado oil smooth & soften lips."

My lips have been pretty dry lately so I picked up the Shea Moisture Lip Balm.  They have different lip balms to choose from but I decided to pick up the Coconut & Hibiscus balm since I love the other items from the same line (hair and body).  It smells just like the other products for this line so hopefully, it will work just as good as other Shea Moisture products:

"SheaMoisture's Coconut & Hibiscus Shea Butter Vegan Lip Balm conditions and revitalizes with moisturizing certified organic Shea Butter, nourishing Coconut Oil and renewing Hibiscus Flower.
-Coconut Oil Nourishes lips with Vitamin E and K, iron and fatty acids.
-Hibiscus Flower is a natural emollient treats dry, rough lips and helps improve skin tone.
-Sunflower Oil has Vitamins E, A, C and D that nourish while essential fatty acids condition."

As a bonus for buying so much stuff, LOL, I got a free Too Faced Peanut Butter & Honey makeup bag and a Too Faced Honey Lip Gloss:

And that's the end of my haul.  I plan in the upcoming weeks to do reviews on some of the products but if there is something above that you want me to review, please let me know in the comments below :)
