1st Impression: L'oreal Hydra Genius Daily Liquid Care (Oily Skin)

5/10/2017

For today's 1st Impression review, I finally tried out the L'oreal Paris Hydra Genius Daily Liquid Care for Oily Skin.  I purchased this at CVS for $17.99 (but I got it cheaper using my CVS Extra Bucks Coupons) and they have two versions of this moisturizer, Normal-Dry Skin, Extra Dry Skin (comes in a jar instead of a pump bottle), and Oily Skin............

Here is the information regarding the Hydra Genius from L'oreal:

"72HR Intense and Continuous Hydration. Lightweight Liquid Care Formula. Mattifed, Fresh, Healthy-Looking Skin.

L’Oréal Skin Expert Paris introduces Hydra Genius - a unique line of highly efficacious Daily Liquid Care Moisturizers. Formulated to offer lightweight hydration, these moisturizers deliver instant hydration that glides on easily for quick absorption.
Specifically developed for Normal to Oily Skin, this water-based moisturizer is formulated with Aloe Water + Hyaluronic Acid to provide dual action

1. 72 hours of instant and continuous hydration: it instantly infuses skin with moisture & locks it in.
2. Mattifying Action: it removes excess sebum for a fresh feel and healthy look.

The result? Skin is ultra-hydrated, fresh and healthy looking, with a mattified finish."

Hydra Genius is a Daily Liquid Care Moisturizer that should be used as part of your regular skincare regimen. Apply to clean skin every morning under makeup, and every night after cleansing, gently smoothing over face & neck. For best results, use in conjunction with other L'Oréal Paris Skincare products.

The L'oreal Hydra Genius comes in a 3.04 Fl Oz (90 ml) glass pump bottle (which I love) which made it easy for me to control how much of the moisturizer that I needed.  The actual moisturizer is clear and has a very pleasant scent (flowery smell).  It feels more like a serum when I used it on my face and is very lightweight.  According to the directions, you are supposed to use this every morning and night after cleansing your face.  I only use this during the day after I washed and toned my face and love using this on days that I would wear my makeup (this moisturizer also feels like a lightweight primer also....almost like the elf primer).

Again, this moisturizer is very light and not heavy at all.  It also didn't make my face feel or look greasy and it dries down (dries down really fast) to a matte finish.  I didn't have any problems with this clogging my pores, affecting my acne (no breakouts), or causing any type of skin irritation.  It really kept my skin moisturize and a little goes a long way (I only use 1 to 2 pumps for my whole face and neck).  It was easy to apply (applies really smoothly) and absorbs in my skin really good.

Overall, I really LOVE this product.  It really works for my oily/acne prone skin and helps control my oil throughout the day.  I have been using this product for about 2 weeks and it's already added to my Holy Grail list.  I am recommending this to anyone that is looking for a great moisturizer for their oily skin and looking for an amazing daily moisturizer.  The only con I will say with this product is that it doesn't have sunscreen in it so you would have to use a separate sunscreen while using this but it wasn't a deal breaker for me.

You can purchase the L'oreal Hydra Genius from L'oreal's website, Amazon, WalmartUlta, Target, CVS, and many other retailers.
