Origins Nature's Skin Solutions VoxBox

5/03/2017

At the end of March, Influenster sent me a brand new VoxBox to try out featuring samples of Origins skincare products.  I have been testing them out of about a month and now ready to give my full review on these products..........

The VoxBox came with 5 samples of skincare products ranging from cleansers to facial mask:

-Origins Checks & Balances Frothy Face Wash
-Origins Clear Improvement Purifying Charcoal Mask
-Origins Ginzing Lightweight Oil Free Moisturizer
-Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins Overnight Renewal Cream
-Origins Ginzing Refreshing Eye Cream

I will discuss how I used each product and my feelings for each one....first, let me take about the products that I used in the morning:

I would start off my morning using the Origins Checks & Balances Frothy Face Wash (Retail: $23.00):

Information about the Facial Wash from Origins:

Our clever cleanser balances faces with dry and oily places. This gentle, frothy face wash with Broad Leaf Kelp Extract, Wheat Protein and Tourmaline discourages excess oil production while protecting dry prone zones. Plus the aroma of Bergamot, Spearmint and Lavender refreshes. Skin feels comfortably clean. Never tight, pulled or parched.

Ingredients: water\aqua\eau; lavandula angustifolia (lavender) flower water; myristic acid; glycerin; behenic acid; sodium methyl cocoyl taurate; palmitic acid; potassium hydroxide; lauric acid; stearic acid; anthemis nobilis flower oil *, mentha viridis (spearmint) leaf oil*, pelargonium graveolens flower oil*, lavandula hybrida oil*, citrus aurantium bergamia (bergamot) fruit oil*, styrax benzoin gum, linalool; peg-3 distearate; tourmaline; laminaria saccharina extract; hydrolyzed wheat protein; cetearyl alcohol; polyquaternium-7; butylene glycol; disodium edta; methylchloroisothiazolinone; methylisothiazolinone
When I used the cleanser, it didn't give me that "Frothy" feeling when washing my face.  It's not a sudsy type of cleanser but more creamy when I first put it on.  I noticed as I begin to wash my face (I used this with just my hands and put it on my damp face), it went on smoothly but would kind of dry out really fast (I had to use water to mix in halfway due to it becoming dry).  After I washed my face, I can say that my face felt really clean but not dry or tight.  The product has a fresh, minty scent but not too powerful and I would say a little goes a long way.

After I wash my face, I used my personal toner and put on my acne medication.  After I put on my medication, I used the Origins Ginzing Moisturizer (Retail: $27.00):

Information from Origins about the Ginzing Moisturizer:

This lightweight, oil-free, energizing moisturizer instantly hydrates and revs up radiance. It's fortified with legendary skin-boosters like Panax Ginseng and Coffee Bean. Lackluster-looking skin is rapidly refreshed and revitalized to create a healthy, vibrant glow.

Ingredients: water\aqua\eau; methyl trimethicone; butylene glycol; glycerin; jojoba esters; panthenol; dicaprylyl carbonate; citrus limon (lemon) peel oil*, citrus grandis (grapefruit) peel oil*, mentha viridis (spearmint) leaf oil*, citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) peel oil*, limonene, linalool, citral; butyrospermum parkii (shea butter); simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) butter; castanea sativa (chestnut) seed extract; rubus idaeus (raspberry) leaf wax; dimethicone; coleus barbatus extract; hordeum vulgare (barley) extract\extrait d'orge; trehalose; triticum vulgare (wheat) germ extract; panax ginseng (ginseng) root extract; ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate/vp copolymer; salicylic acid; foeniculum vulgare (fennel) seed extract; rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract; tocopheryl acetate; phospholipids; sodium pca; arginine; caffeine; cholesterol; linoleic acid; biotin; folic acid; tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate; polysilicone-11; carbomer; pantethine; squalane; sodium hyaluronate; hexylene glycol; lecithin; calcium carbonate; caprylyl glycol; ethylhexylglycerin; tromethamine; phenoxyethanol
This moisturizer was very lightweight but it didn't moisturize my skin.  It has a citrus smell but again not too strong or overpowering.  I was nervous at first because when I first put it on, it left my face looking shiny which I do not like for my skin (I have very oily skin) but after a few minutes, it dried down to a demi-matte finish.  Overall, again, my face felt soft and moisturize all day and I didn't have any problems with it clogging up my pores.  The only thing with this moisturizer is that it doesn't have sunscreen in so I definitely had to use some after I applied my moisturizer.  Other than that, I had no other complaints.

At night, I would use the Checks & Balances Face Wash and after my face was clean, I used the Origins Clear Improvement Purifying Charcoal Mask (Retail: $26.00):

Information about the Facial Mask from Origins:

Nature's complexion clean-up crew clears the way for skin to act its best. Bamboo Charcoal acts like a magnet to draw out deep-dwelling pore-cloggers, White China Clay absorbs environmental toxins, Lecithin dissolves impurities. Skin looks clear, feels perfectly pure.

ingredients: water\aqua\eau; myrtus communis (myrtle) leaf water; kaolin; bentonite; butylene glycol; montmorillonite; polysorbate 20; peg-100 stearate; charcoal powder; xanthan gum; lecithin; peg-150 distearate; propylene glycol stearate; sorbitan laurate; glycerin; propylene glycol laurate; simethicone; caprylyl glycol; ethylhexylglycerin; hexylene glycol; trisodium edta; dehydroacetic acid; phenoxyethanol
I really LOVED this product......I really felt like it really cleaned out my pores and left my face looking more clear and also matte.  When I used it, I put it all over my face using my hands but the directions didn't say how long to keep it on.  I just left it on for about 15 minutes (that's how long I usually leave on my other mask) and washed it off using a warm wet towel.  I am definitely picking this up in the future because this I loved the way if left my skin feeling soft and clear.

After I used the mask, I used my toner and acne medication again due to my acne prone skin.  After my medication, I used the Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins Overnight Renewal Cream (Retail: $43.00):

Information on the Moisturizer from Origins:

Put dullness to rest. Our famous night cream is fortified with time-released resurfacers plus Vitamins C, E and H, minerals and moisture-rich replenishers. While relaxing aromas lull you to sleep, skin sloughs away dry, dead layers. Deletes dullness overnight so you wake up radiant and refreshed.

Ingredients: water\aqua\eau; methyl trimethicone; squalane; caprylic/capric triglyceride; polysorbate 40; cetyl alcohol; butylene glycol; dimethicone; myristyl alcohol; peg-100 stearate; glycerin; citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) peel oil*, citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) flower oil*, cinnamomum cassia leaf oil*, ferula galbaniflua (galbanum) resin oil*, citrus aurantium amara (bitter orange) peel extract, vanilla planifolia fruit extract, valeriana officinalis rhizome/root extract, citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) juice, limonene, linalool, citral; rubus idaeus (raspberry) leaf wax; foeniculum vulgare (fennel) seed extract; castanea sativa (chestnut) seed extract; rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract; coleus barbatus extract; triticum vulgare (wheat) germ extract; hordeum vulgare (barley) extract\extrait d'orge; panthenol; biotin; folic acid; pantethine; glyceryl stearate; tromethamine; ethylhexylglycerin; arginine; caprylyl glycol; phytosterols; cholesterol; linoleic acid; elaeis guineensis (palm) oil; salicylic acid; tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate; squalene; cetearyl alcohol; sodium pca; ceteareth-20; sodium hyaluronate; phospholipids; tocopheryl acetate; tocotrienols; calcium carbonate; carbomer; hexylene glycol; tocopherol; lecithin; potassium sorbate; sodium dehydroacetate; phenoxyethanol

I really liked using the moisturizer and I liked this better than the Ginzing Moisturizer.  This was a little thicker than the Ginzing Moisturizer and this made my skin feel so soft.  This also had a fresh scent that wasn't too strong and it applied on my skin so smoothly.  I did notice that when I used this moisturizer, it keep my skin moisturize throughout the night.  Since I use acne medication, some moisturizers that I use dry out because the medication would dry out my skin leaving it really dry and flaky in the morning.  I didn't have this problem when I used this product and it didn't leave my skin looking greasy or shiny.

The last product I used before going to bed was the Origins Ginzing Refreshing Eye Cream (Retail: $30.00):

Information about the Eye Cream from Origins:

Late night? Long flight? Look tired all the time? Our clinically-proven morning-after eye cream instantly reduces dark circles. Unsightly bags and puffiness virtually disappear. It's formulated with Coffee Beans, Panax Ginseng, Magnolia Extract and natural optic brighteners. Rapidly wakes up, refreshes and restores radiance to tired eyes.

ingredients: water\aqua\eau; methyl trimethicone; butylene glycol; peg-100 stearate; dimethicone; cetyl ricinoleate; silica; olea europaea (olive) fruit oil; glycerin; behenyl alcohol; cucumis sativus (cucumber) fruit extract; panax ginseng (ginseng) root extract; castanea sativa (chestnut) seed extract; camellia sinensis (green tea) leaf extract; cordyceps sinensis extract; magnolia officinalis bark extract; pyrus malus (apple) fruit extract; scutellaria baicalensis root extract; pantethine; panthenol; caprylic/capric triglyceride; butyrospermum parkii (shea butter); caffeine; coleus barbatus extract; yeast extract\faex\extrait de levure; folic acid; hydrogenated lecithin; jojoba wax peg-120 esters; biotin; tribehenin; myristyl alcohol; palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7; trehalose; sodium hyaluronate; ascorbyl tocopheryl maleate; hesperidin methyl chalcone; sodium sulfite; sodium metabisulfite; steareth-20; dipeptide-2; ethylhexylglycerin; carbomer; tromethamine; sorbic acid; chlorphenesin; phenoxyethanol; mica; titanium dioxide (ci 77891); iron oxides (ci 77491, ci 77492, ci 77499)
I believe you are supposed to use this in the morning but I used it at night because that's when I usually will use an eye cream.  I applied this under and on top of my eyelid and it when on smoothly.  It did leave a small tingling feeling under my eyes but it wasn't bad and didn't leave any type of irritation.  My eyes are sensitive and this product didn't bother my eyes or cause any infections.  I have to say that I am blessed not to have dark circles or noticeable bags under my eyes so I couldn't really tell if it really worked for those reasons but I will say that it did keep my eye area moisturize (since that area of my face can be really drying).  Also, this product did leave a shimmery effect when I applied it but it didn't bother me while I was using it.

Overall, I really do like all the products but my favorites were the Charcoal Mask and the Night-A-Min cream.  These products did not affect my acne by causing me to break out or cause any type of irritation.  I also noticed that these products did not clog up my pores and it made my skin really soft.  I definitely recommend these products if you are looking for an easy skincare routine and the products are from one company.  Origins products can be purchased from Macy's, Sephora, Ulta, and Origins website.  To see a more detail review of each product, please check out my YouTube video below:
