Quaker Overnight Oats Influenster VoxBox Review

9/11/2017

A few weeks ago, I received the Quaker Overnight Oats VoxBox from Influenster for me to test out their new product.  I have never tried overnight oats at all so I was excited to try it to see if I would enjoy this new breakfast item..........

(The two flavors I tried - Toasted Coconut & Almond Crunch and Blueberry Banana & Vanilla Bliss)
The sent me two flavors - Toasted Coconut & Almond Crunch and Blueberry Banana & Vanilla Bliss but they have 4 flavors in total (the other flavors are Orchard Peach Pecan Perfection and Raisin Walnut & Honey Heaven).  This is considered a cold cereal to enjoy for breakfast for a quick meal.

According to Quaker:

"Discover overnight oats—a fun and delicious way to enjoy Quaker® Oats! Either add fruit, yogurt, nuts or other tasty ingredients with your favorite milk and oats in a mason jar or find our Overnight Oat cups in the oatmeal aisle. Mix together at night and let steep in the fridge until morning."
I saw many people make their homemade version overnight oats and always wanted to try it so I was excited to try Quaker's Oats and loved the fact that it was convenient:

The nutrition wasn't bad at all and it really kept me full after I ate one.  To prepare, I just followed the simple directions of using pouring milk to the fill line (you can use creamer, almond milk, half and half.....anything you like), placed it in my fridge overnight (about 8 hours), and ate it when I arrived at work:

(When I prepared it the night before with adding the milk and placing it in my fridge)

Overall, I wasn't a big fan of this.  I guess in my mind, I excepted it to taste like cold oatmeal but it was more like a cereal (which is what it claimed to be, so I guess I can't hate them for that).  It just didn't have a lot of flavors (again, this can verify from person to person) and kind of bland.  I do love the concept of the product because I am a huge fan of to go food that is simple and fast to make.  I think next time I would add a little more toppings (like honey, fruit, and etc.) and sugar (I usually add Truvia in my oatmeal).

  1. Interesting, I've tried the overnight oatmeal before but used almond milk I think and I liked it. I'm a fan of hot oatmeal but this would be good for those on the go mornings.
