The Acne Diary Series: Vivo Per Lei Vitamin C Repairing Serum

10/02/2017

I am always trying out products to see if they would work with my oily, acne-prone skin so I was excited when I got an opportunity to try out the Vivo Per Lei Vitamin C Repairing Serum.  This serum is apart of their Vitamin C + Amino Acid Collection which includes a Milk Cleanser, Day Moisturizer, Night Repair Cream and a Firming Body Cream:

Ingredients:
Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (Vitamin C Ester), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Aqua, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Germ Oil, Isopropyl Palmitate (Palm Oil), Sodium PCA, Sodium Lactate, Phospholipids, Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A), Arginine, Ascorbyl Palmitate (Vitamin C), Phenoxyethanol, Aspartic Acid (L-Aspartic Acid), PCA, Ethylhexylglycerin, Glycine, Alanine, Serine, Valine, Threonine, Proline, Phenylalanine, Isoleucine, Histidine.

First, let me say that I loved the packaging with a pump bottle design (plastic bottle with white and silver design). It comes in a 1.22 fl oz/36mL bottle and I love the fact that the expiration date is printed on the bottom of the product so you know how long to keep it:

I was provided the serum through Tomoson and Vivo Per Lei to test out for my skin and I decided to add this to my Night-time Facial Skin Routine.  Per the product directions, you are supposed to apply the serum unto a clean, dry face and massage gently until its absorbed.  I use this after I have washed my face and used my acne medication and before I use my night time cream/moisturizer:

(Example of my regular night time facial routine)

The serum was clear and didn't leave my face greasy or any type of cast on my face.  It absorbed into my skin very nicely and smooth and left my face very soft (almost like a silky facial primer).   It's not heavy at all and very lightweight (feels like nothing on my face).  Again, it didn't leave my face greasy but it did leave a little nice glow on my face.  I didn't have any type of reaction or irritation from using it and I was able to use my moisturizer right after without any issues or reactions:

After using it for a week, it didn't cause any acne breakouts or any type of crazy cyst on my face (which is a major A+ in my book).  It didn't have any reaction to my oily skin but I did feel/see that it filled in my pores.  It didn't help with reducing my oil or making my face matte but to be honest, the product never claims to be that:

Overall, I do like the product and how it reacted to my skin.  I do believe it improved the appearance of my skin (soft and glowy skin and made my skin an evener skin tone).  I recommend this to anyone since I believe it will work with any skin type.  This serum retails for $32.00 and can be purchased through their website or Amazon.
