Influenster Garnier Fructis Style VoxBox Review

12/08/2017

Today, I am bringing you the review of the Influenster Garnier Fructis Style VoxBox that I received back in October.  I have been able to test it out for a few months and now I am ready to give my opinion how I think the products worked..........

In the Garnier VoxBox, it came with two hair products, the Curl Scrunch Controlling Gel and the Curl Renew Reactivating Milk Spray.  Both products are made for naturally curly hair.  First, let's talk about the gel:

Information from GarnierUSA:

"Extra-strong control for defined curls:

Tame the mane, rule the curl! Garnier Fructis Style Curl Scrunch Controlling Gel for curly hair creates defined, volume-controlled curls for lasting hold free of frizz, flyaways, and flaky residue.

How Does It Work:

Curl Scrunch Gel is a non-drying, nourishing formula containing curl-binding agents and silicone to lock in shape and shine, leaving you with gorgeous, defined curl control without the frizz.

How to use:

Take a quarter size amount of product, rub between palms, then apply to slightly damp/dry hair and style. For longer or thicker hair, or simply to get more "definition", increase the amount of product used.

Ingredients:
031008 P Aqua/Water, Pvp, Propylene Glycon, Alcohol Denat., Oleth-20, Phenoxyethanol, Triethanolamine, Carbomer, Parfum/Fragrance, Polyquaternium-11, Dmdm Hydantoin, Peg/Ppg-22/24 Dimethicone, Ethylhexylglycerin, Pentasodium Pentetate, Limonene, Benzophenone-4 Hexyl Cinnamal, Linalool, Peg-70 Mango Glycerides, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter/Shea Butter, Amyl Cinnamal. F.I.L.# D159597/2."

Since I never wear my hair in a wash and go, I decided to use to prepare my hair for a 2 strand twist out.  I sprayed my hair with water and then used the curl renew milk spray.  I added the gel last with smoothing it within each section before I twisted it up.  I didn't have any problems with how the gel applied to my hair (when on very smooth and wasn't sticky).  The gel is on the watery side and there wasn't a strong scent of this product:

I let my hair dry overnight and unraveled my 2 strand twist the next morning for my twist out (and my hair was fully dry by the next morning).  I have natural, 4 type hair but it's not on the thick side but this product for me didn't have any hold.  My twist came out very puffy with no definition at all so this didn't work for my hair type at all.  One thing that I can say that it didn't leave any white flakes in my hair and my hair wasn't crunchy/hard.  It did feel very moisturized and soft but just no definition.  This may work on a different hair type than mine but it's was a no from me dog:

I just had to pull it into a puff and go on about my day:

Now to the Garnier Fructis Curl Renew Milk Spray:

Information from GarnierUSA:

Calm frizz and hydrate curls without weighing down hair.

"How does it work:

Results:

Instantly refresh and redefine natural curl shape. Calm frizz and hydrate curls without weighing down hair. With nourishing coconut oil, and no drying alcohols.

How to Use:

Apply to dry or towel-dried damp in even spritzes. Scrunch hair with hands to perfectly reshape curls.

Ingredients:
1031352 F6 AQUA / WATER / EAU, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, GLYCERIN, ISOPROPYL MYRISTATE, COCOS NUCIFERA OIL / COCONUT OIL, CETYL ESTERS, AMODIMETHICONE, PHENOXYETHANOL, BEHENTRIMONIUM CHLORIDE, PARFUM / FRAGRANCE, BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII BUTTER / SHEA BUTTER, TRIDECETH-5, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, POLYQUATERNIUM-37, PROPYLENE GLYCOL DICAPRYLATE/DICAPRATE, VP/DIMETHYLAMINOETHYLMETHACRYLATE COPOLYMER, ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL, TRIDECETH-10, PPG-1 TRIDECETH-6, LINALOOL, CITRIC ACID, LIMONENE, BENZYL ALCOHOL, BENZYL SALICYLATE, ACETIC ACID, CITRONELLOL, CI 19140 / YELLOW 5,CI 14700 / RED 4 F.I.L# D195704/1"

Now, this product is something that I really liked.  I would use this as a leave-in conditioner after I wash my hair and through the week when I wanted just to refresh my hair.  It made my hair soft and my hair felt very moisturized.  It also helped with detangling my hair when I had to comb through it.  It wasn't sticky at all and it didn't leave residue in my hair (it also had a pleasant scent to it as well).  I think this would work with any hair type for added moisture.

Both products cost $4.29 on GarnierUSA website and can be purchased at Walmart, CVS, Target, and many other stores.  From the products from the VoxBox I would say pass on the controlling gel (unless you are really looking into a very soft hold) and highly recommend the curl renew spray for added moisture for your hair.

    1. I may need to try their mousse because I wasn't feeling the gel. I will have to try to find it the next time I am shopping for some hair products.
