Today for my 1st impression post, I am reviewing the NYX Blotting Powder in the shade BLP04, "Deep"..........

I purchase this from Ulta for $11.99 along with the NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick when they were doing the "Buy 2 Get One Free" deal on all the NYX products.  I decided to pick this up to see if this would help me with my oily skin and actually mattify my skin.

According to NYX Cosmetics:

"Kissed with the barest hint of pigment Blotting Powder takes down the shine without settling into fine lines polishing skin to satin matte perfection."

The packaging is pretty simple with a all black compact, a mirror, and a makeup sponge "puff" (I use a powder brush instead).  I like this simple compact because it makes it easy for travel (I store this in my purse) and the sponge makes it easy for me to pick up the product while on the go.  The product is 0.29 oz (8.2 g) and the powder is finely milled......not crumbly at all.

Now I'm not going to lie.....when I swatched the shade with my finger, I was very afraid that the color was way too light and that it would make me look ashy.  To my surprise, it really didn't have a strong pigment and it didn't come off looking ashy or ghostly.  It also didn't make my face look cakey and it instantly made my face back matte:

(My oily face after wearing makeup for about 4 hours)
(After I applied the NYX Blotting Powder)
I usually would first blot my face with blotting paper or tissue then use an powder to control the oil, but in this case, I went straight to the powder without blotting with paper to truly test out how it would control my oil......I love it!  Again, it didn't make my face look cakey or chalky (my face looked natural) and the product was easy to blend in.  I also didn't notice any creasing and the product lasted a long time.

I would recommend this product to anyone that has oily skin and is looking for a affordable product that you can use on a daily basis.

You can purchase the NYX Blotting Powder at Ulta and NYX Cosmetics.
