Tarte MakeupShayla Tarteist Contour Palette Review

Let me first start off by saying that when Tarte first released their original Tarteist Contour Palette, I was exited to try it until I saw some reviews on it.  The biggest problem I saw with the original contour palette was that this didn't work for all skin tones (especially brown to dark skin women like myself).  When I sampled it at Ulta, the dark colors came off kind of grayish on my skintone so it was a definite no go for me..........

So a few months later, Tarte released another version of the Tarteist Contour Palette but this time, they collaborated with makeup artist MakeupShayla (@MakeupShayla).  They created a palette that was universal but also was made for deeper skin tones.  So for me, I was very excited to try this out.

Information from Tarte:

"LA-based @MakeupShayla is a celebrity MUA, social media personality and master makeup educator who started posting ultra-glam selfies online and rocketed to Instagram stardom. The fierce stunner and contour queen is on a mission to inspire women to create celebrity versions of themselves, and has now teamed up with Tarte to bring her first contour collaboration to life. Designed for women of all complexions, including deeper skin tones, this exclusive contouring palette includes 6 silky, blendable powders and a coordinating, step-by-step guide from Shayla so Tartelettes can learn the art of contouring straight from the master. Just like her YouTube tutorials, Shayla shows you how to highlight, correct, contour and accentuate your best features so you're ready to slay away.

Free of parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, tricolsan, sodium lauryl sulfate, gluten. Dermatologist tested.

-Highlight (matte highlighter illuminates center of face while softening fine lines)
-Correct (yellow correcting powder adds dimension and neutralizes redness or discolorations)
-Soft/Deep Contour (separate contouring shades for defining light-to-medium or medium-to-dark skin tones)
-Accentuate (rosy blush accentuates cheekbones with soft, complexion-enhancing color)
-Glow (shimmer highlighter brightens and illuminates the angles of the face)"

Package is beautiful which come in a gold circular container.  It comes in 6 shades which is numbered and noted of what it is used for:

1. Highlight
2. Correct
3 & 4. Contour
5. Accentuate (Blush)

And the 6th shade is not number but is described to be a shimmer highlight (which personally I used as a highlight):

This palette for me was very nice and very easy to use.  By using the number system and going by direction card (which is included when you buy the palette) this is very beginner friendly and easy to follow.  The powders were easy to blend into my and the shades did not give off a grayish color.  Both of the highlighter shades gives off a subtle highlight (which I like) which makes the highlight look natural on my skin.  The contour shades are perfect (I only used number 3 for my face) and are easy to blend so it doesn't give off a hard, chiseled look (but if that's what you are going for, this palette can create that also).  The correct shade is nice for an undereye setting powder and the blush shade is very pretty.  I will say that you will have to build up that blush so it can show but once it is built up, it is very beautiful.  It is also said that this palette can also be used as eyeshadows also if you are looking for a all-in-one palette:

I paid $45.00 for this palette and I purchased this at Ulta.com.  I do really like this palette due to this being very easy and simple to use and the powders being blendable and buildable.  You can purchase this palette at Ulta and Tarte but please note that this is a limited edition palette so it's not going to be here forever.  For an example of how to use the Tarte palette, here is MakeupShayla herself using her palette with detailed info:
