New Year, New Goals...My 2018 Fitness Goals


Happy New Year everyone and I am very thankful that I am blessed to see another year.  I am very happy with my progress in 2017 but there were some goals that I didn't get to complete.  I also started slacking towards the end of last year and picked up some pounds but since it's the New Year, it is time for me to hit the reset button and crush some goals for this year..........

Like I mentioned, I picked up a few pounds towards the end of the year with our family vacation on a cruise, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas....just good eating and very little exercise.  But I am proud to say that I don't weigh the same as I did at the start of 2017 and I know I have to put in some work this year.  So for my first goal of 2017:

1st Goal: Get down to 160 lbs

I was very comfortable when I weighed that much some years ago so that is the goal that I am working on this year.  Here is a recap of the weigh-ins for 2017:

My second goal is a goal that I wanted to complete for a few years but I just keep pushing it off.  For 2018, I will complete this goal:

2nd Goal: To Complete a 5K Race in 2018

I have already started training again to work myself up with running again and want to run/walk 3 miles 3 to 4 times a week:

My third goal is wanting to complete an at-home exercise program.  I used to be so good with doing this but only completed this one-time last year.  I have started some (you all remember me trying to do a 30 Day Yoga Challenge?????) last year but just didn't complete the whole program.  So, since I signed up with Beachbody on Demand again, I am going to do their new program that starts January 15th:

3rd Goal: To Complete the 80 Day Obsession Exercise Program

I saw the preview of this new programs and wanted to try it out but I said to myself that if I am going to do it...I was going to fully complete the 80 Day program and not quit.  To keep myself accountable, I plan to do weekly updates on how the program is going and post my results.

So these are my goals that I want to complete in 2018.  I wanted to keep it simple with achievable goals but also make it challenging so I won't quit so easily.  Wish me luck and I will keep everyone updated on how my goals are going.

  1. Good luck with all your goals, and wishing you a wonderful 2018! I want to increase my walking for exercise this year. I did ok with walking for exercise last year, but I slacked off after I pulled a muscle in my back near the end of Summer. I'm ready to get back into my walking routine.

    1. Thank you and I hope your injury has healed. I am also starting off with walking so I can get back in the groove of running again.

  2. You've got some impressive goals going. I'm just gonna do small goals this time around. Starting with jump ropes. I also have some weights at home that are collecting dust. Time to pick those up, again.

    1. I usually have small goals in place to help with my bigger goal so it's a great idea to start off with small goals. And dust off those weights and work it, LOL

  3. Great goals! You've got this. I am working hard to lose weight (trying to get to 155), exercise 3 days a week, tone up overall, and to drink more water.
